Riverhead Drunk Driver Nabbed: Police
The driver was arrested after a traffic stop, police said.
SOUTHAMPTON, NY — A Riverhead resident was caught driving drunk in Southampton on Thursday, police said. According to New York State Police, Evando R. Bomtempo, 23, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop for failing to signal on Montauk Highway in Southampton.
Bomtempo was transported back to New York State Police barracks Riverside, and provided a breath sample indicating a .11 percent BAC; Bomtempo is due back in Southampton Justice Court on April 24, police said.
