Riverhead Duo Charged With Stealing Vehicle From 7-Eleven: Police
The pair was found "passed out" in the vehicle in Southampton, police say.
RIVERHEAD, NY — Two men from Riverhead were arrested and charged after they were found "passed out" Sunday morning in a stolen vehicle in Southampton, police said.
According to Southampton Village Police, at 8:16 a.m., Gerson Oveniel Hernandez-Castillo, 20, was arrested on Old Town Road and charged with two counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a felony, as well as fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, both misdemeanors.
Eleeam Sanchez-Espinoza, 22, was also arrested and charged two counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property a felony, as well as three counts of fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, both misdemeanors, police said.

Police said they were called to Old Town Road after a complaint about a vehicle on the side of the road with two occupants passed out, police said. Upon further investigation, it was determined that that the 2011 Chevrolet Malibu that they were occupying had been reported stolen from 7-Eleven in Flanders the night before, police said.
The men were also found with stolen property from vehicle larcenies that had been reported in the Flanders area, police said.
