RIVERHEAD, NY — Firefighters quickly extinguished a car fire in Riverhead recently, officials said.

According to the Riverhead Fire Department, the fire broke out at about 5:13 p.m. on Jan. 24 at the intersection of Roanoke Avenue and Middle Road.

"Upon arrival, units found the vehicle fully involved. Crews quickly stretched a handline and knocked down the fire, bringing the incident under control in short order," the Riverhead Fire Department said.
