Riverhead High School Student Signs to Wrestle at SUNY Binghamton

Riverhead High School student wrestler Ed Matyka recently signed to wrestle for the Division I Binghamton Bearcats at SUNY Binghamton.

Matyaka broke the 100th win mark, earned the Suffolk County Wrestling Champ title after placing in fourth at the New York State Championships and earned the title of All American after placing in fifth at the Nationals.

During the Suffolk County Championships at Hofstra, where he was also named the tournament’s outstanding wrestler, he overcame a 5-0 deficit in the final half-minute of the third period and won his first county title in triple overtime.
