Riverhead Police Department To Host Drug Collection On Saturday

Residents can drop off unwanted, unused or expired prescription medication to the Riverhead Police Department headquarters.

The Riverhead Police Department will be hosting a drug collection for residents to safety dispose of unwanted, unused or expired prescription medicines. Riverhead News-Review reports.

Drugs can be dropped off on Saturday, Sept. 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Riverhead Police Headquarters at 210 Howell Avenue.

The initiative is a way to safely remove potentially dangerous drugs to protect families and the environment. Pills and patches will be accepted but no needles, liquids or sharps will be accepted, according to Riverhead-News Review.
