Riverhead Resident Kim Milton Named 'Science Teacher Of Year'

RIVERHEAD, NY — A Southampton High School teacher from Riverhead has been honored for her talents and dedication.

Southampton High School earth science teacher and K to 12 science curriculum liaison Kim Milton has been selected as the 2018 recipient of the Suffolk Section of the Science Teachers Association of New York State High School Science Teacher of the Year Award.

"A 10-year veteran of Southampton High School, Milton joins an elite group of science educators who have demonstrated that they are not only outstanding classroom teachers, but have been involved in endeavors that have provided students and teachers with programs and strategies for the advancement of science education in and outside of the classroom," the district said in a release.

In addition to being a member of STANYS, Milton is part of the National Science Teacher's Association, National Board Certified Teacher and NYS Master Teacher Program.
