Another graduating senior is off to a bright future -- and to make Riverhead High School proud.
RHS varsity soccer forward Ashley Drozd signed to play soccer for Saint Peter’s University is in Jersey City, New Jersey, a Division I college, recently.
Ashley ranks in the top 11 percent of her graduating class and will receive both an academic scholarship and an athletic scholarship. She plans to major in biology with a career goal of becoming a physical therapist.
Ashley has been on the high school varsity soccer team since eighth grade. She holds a number of Riverhead High School soccer records: most goals scored in a game, five, most goals in a season, 23, and a career record of 43 goals. She racked up an All-Conference and two All-League awards and was named MVP for the last two years.
“I’m really happy for her,” her mother Lisa Drozd said. “She has worked really, really hard both on the soccer field and in the classroom.”
