Riverhead Students Celebrate World Autism Awareness Day
The children wore blue and helped to raise awareness for Saturday's World Autism Awareness Day.

RIVERHEAD, NY - In honor of the eighth annual World Autism Awareness Day is Saturday, students at the Roanoake Avenue Elementary School made posters Friday and dressed in blue, reminding people to be kind and to shine a light on autism awareness.
According to autismspeaks.org,, every year on Autism Awareness Day, aautism organizations around the world celebrate the day with unique fundraising and awareness-raising events.
Participants are asked to use #LIUB on social media to share experiences and "help light the world up blue this April!."
