Riverhead Students Help Hungry With 'Empty Soup Bowls' Fundraiser
Congratulations to all the students who put their hands and hearts into action to help the hungry!

RIVERHEAD, NY — Riverhead teen opened their hearts to help the hungry recently.
Students in Riverhead High School's cooking club and ceramics class teamed up on Feb. 1 to raise $1,547 for the Phillips Avenue Elementary School Food Pantry through the second annual Empty Soup Bowls fundraiser.
In preparation for the event, ceramics students spent hours creating more than 140 bowls on pottery wheels, while the cooking club whipped up delicious soups, including broccoli cheddar, Italian minestrone and loaded baked potato, the district said.
