Riverhead Woman Drove Drunk, Yelled Profanities at Troopers: Police

The woman was found to have warrants for a previous DWI arrest, police say.

A Riverhead woman was arrested for driving drunk while speeding and yelling at the troopers in Riverside, according to State Police.

Rosalie Jackson, 26, was stopped for driving 60 mph in a 40 mph zone and driving with a broken taillight on Nugent Drive on Saturday, police said.

The troopers found she was intoxicated, according to police.

During the arrest, she refused to cooperate with the troopers and became extremely irate, refusing to enter the car and shouting profanities at the troopers, police said.

Further investigation revealed that Jackson was wanted on a warrant out of the Riverhead Town Court for a previous DWI arrest, according to police.

She was arrested for DWI, second degree obstructing governmental administration and first degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, according to police.

Jackson was arraigned in Southampton Town Justice Court and remanded to Suffolk County jail on $1,700 bail.

She will answer the Riverhead warrant at a later date, police said.
