Riverhead Woman Stole Cell Phones, Activation Cards From CVS: Police

The woman was stopped by police and caught with the stolen items, police say.

A Riverhead woman stole phones and activation cards from the Mattituck CVS on Wednesday afternoon, according to Southold Town Police.

Police received a call from the CVS located on 9870 Route 25, that a woman stole the items and fled from the store at about 3:36 p.m., police said.

Tanya Brown, 31, was stopped by Southampton Town Police and Southold Police responded to their location, according to police.

She was found to be in possession of the stolen merchandise, according to police.

Brown was arrested for petty larceny, transported to headquarters, processed and held for arraignment, police said.
