Riverhead's Annual Cardboard Boat Race Ready To Set Sail This Summer

The event takes place on August 5 in the Peconic River; registation is now open.

RIVERHEAD, NY — A splashingly fun event is paddling back to Riverhead this summer as the 2023 Cardboard Boat Race kicks off on the Peconic Riverfront.

The event, presented by the Downtown Riverhead Business Improvement District and the Riverhead Chamber of Commerce, takes place on August 5. The event begins with registration and inspections at 9 a.m., and races beginning at 11 a.m., including the traditional race between town supervisors.

The day will also include music, games, awards, prizes and vendors.
