Robbery Victim Punched And Kicked By 3 Men In Riverhead: Police
BREAKING: The man was walking alone when he was attacked by three men Wednesday night, police say.

RIVERHEAD, NY — A robbery victim was punched and kicked during an assault in Riverhead Wednesday, police said.
According to Riverhead Town Police, a call came in at 11:15 p.m. about a robbery that took place on Union Avenue near East Main Street.
The victim, a 41-year-old man, reported that at approximately 9:45 p.m., he was walking near the area of the Tuthill-Mangano Funeral Home on Union Avenue when he was attacked by three unknown men, who surrounded him and began to repeatedly punch and kick him until he fell to the ground, police said.

While on the ground, the men rummaged through the victim's pants pockets and removed his cell phone before fleeing the area on foot, police said.
The victim walked back to his residence and contacted the police; he was later transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead for treatment of injuries sustained during the robbery, which were non-life threatening, police said.

Responding officers were unable to locate anyone matching the description given by the victim, who reported his attackers as being black men in their early 20s, with one of the subjects said to be wearing a gray shirt, red shorts and red and white sneakers, police said.
Officers did, however, locate the victim's cell phone on Union Avenue, where it appeared to have been discarded in the yard of a residence, police said.
