Missing Dog Lost In Snowstorm Home Safe: 'Jax Was Found!'
Jax was found late Saturday night on Long Island, his thankful owner says.

GREENPORT, NY — It was a joyful ending Saturday night as a little lost dog was found in Greenport — after being lost during the season's first snowfall.
"Jax has been found," Nicole McDaniel said. "Thank you so much for everyone's effort."
According to McDaniel, Jax was reportedly spotted on Tasker Lane about 3:30 p.m. and was later found on Saturday night.

Friends and community members rallied to help find Jax and get him home safely, driving and walking the village streets trying to spot him. "I am so grateful," McDaniel said.
According to animal advocate Wendy Lechner, Patricia Demott Dussault of Lost Dog Search and Rescue Long Island, animal tracker Teddy Henn's group, was out searching constantly, following Jax's tiny footsteps in the snow Saturday. Also, she said, Carol Morris and her husband Bob were among those searching tirelessly. Lechner was also driving around the village looking for hours, as were many others.

After the sighting Saturday, friends and family brought out chicken and Jax's favorite squeaky toy, and apparently, the familiar scents and sounds did the trick — Jax came and ran directly into the arms of his relieved family.
McDaniel said her childhood dog Jax went missing Thursday around 11 a.m. from Linnet Street. He was also seen around noon Thursday on Cedarfields Drive, she said.
McDaniel was let out to "use the bathroom" in the yard as usual. "He never runs. But a truck went by and spooked him," she said.
Although she believes Jax came back to the door of her family's home, he then "took off running."
McDaniel is currently in Florida and was stricken by the thought of her dog lost in a snowstorm when she is so far away.
She was also very worried about Jax being out in the first snowstorm of the season.
McDaniel said family, friends, and the community were out searching for days, even bringing the other dogs from Jax's litter, his brother Mellow and his mom MJ, out to help.
But her prayers were answered. "Thank you so much," she said, to the many who cared.
