School Board Poised to Vote on Teacher Contract
The BOE meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the Riverhead High School cafeteria.

School's back in session, and teachers are busy planning a full year for students — with a new five-year contract slated to be voted upon Tuesday.
According to the agenda for the Riverhead Central School District's board of education meeting, which takes place Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the high school cafeteria, a vote will be taken to authorize a memorandum of agreement with the Riverhead Central Faculty Association.
The resolution, if approved, also authorizes Riverhead School Superintendent Nancy Carney and BOE President Ann Cotten-DeGrasse to execute a successor collective bargaining agreement, consistent with the memorandum of agreement, for the period from July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2017.
Neither DeGrasse nor Carney responded immediately to a request for comment about the contract.
