Search on for Christmas Eve Shoplifter: Police

The search is on for a Christmas Eve shoplifter, police said.

The Riverhead Police Department and the Riverhead police department's detective division is currently conducting an investigation into a reported larceny that occurred at the Epic Jeans outlet, located at Suite 1401-1770 West Main Street, at the Tanger II Outlet in Riverhead on Christmas Eve, police said.

Authorities received a 911 call at 6: 28 p.m. from Epic Jeans reporting a shoplifter attempting to remove clothing items from the store, police said.

Upon arrival, patrol officers were told that "a heavy set black female wearing black clothing" swiped assorted North Face clothing and accessories, police said.

The female suspect fled the Tanger Outlet in an awaiting vehicle, police said.
