Search on for Man Who Held Up Wading River Subway at Knifepoint: Police

The man brandished a knife and demanded cash, police said.

WADING RIVER, NY - The search is on for a man who held up a Wading River Subway at knifepoint, police said.

According to Riverhead Town Police, the robbery took place on Wednesday at 9 p.m. at the Subway located at 6302 Route 25A.

Employees reported that an unknown white male came into the store, displayed a knife and demanded money; he was given an unspecified amount of cash and fled the area, police said.

A K9 unit responded to the area and was unsuccessful in locating the suspect, police said.

The man was described as a white male, approximately 6’0, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, sunglasses, dark pants and gloves, police said.
