Search On For Whoever Bashed Firefighter's Vehicle With Bat: Cops

RIVERHEAD, NY — The search is on for whoever damaged a volunteer firefighter's personal vehicle with a bat, police said.
According to the Riverhead Police Department, the public's help is needed to identify whoever damaged the Riverhead Volunteer firefighter's vehicle, which was parked at the Riverhead Fire Department headquarters on Sept. 28, while he was on duty during the overnight hours.
At 12:30 a.m., on Sept. 29, an unknown individual approached the vehicle and caused extensive damage to the passenger side of his 2010 Dodge Ram pickup by striking the vehicle with a bat; the person left the area in an unknown direction, police said.

The act was captured on video; anyone with any information in this case is asked to contact the Riverhead Town Police Detective Division at 631-727-4500 ext. 327. All calls will remain confidential.
