Self-Proclaimed 'Prince of Montauk' Busted for Driving On Drugs: Police

Montauk, NY — The self-proclaimed "f-----g prince of Montauk" found himself in trouble with the law Monday.

Dylan Eckardt, the Montauk local who started as a pro surfer and has most recently made a splash on the real estate scene, was arrested on Monday at 4:20 p.m.

According to East Hampton Police Captain Chris Anderson, Eckardt was stopped for a violation of a vehicle and traffic law on South Etna Avenue and "found to be impaired by some sort of intoxicant."

He was charged with DWI, drugs, a misdemeanor, according to Anderson. The type of drugs was not specified by police.

Eckhardt, in a recent Vanity Fair article, was quoted as saying, "I’m the f-----g rock star of real estate. I’m the f-----g prince of Montauk.”

In the article, Eckhardt, said police had written him seven tickets in the last two months. “All the cops know who I am,” he told Vanity Fair as he allegedly pulled into an illegal spot. “No one is going to say s--t to me.”

Eckardt reportedly kept up his bad boy demeanor when arrested, according to the New York Post, which said he told police, “I take Xanax and Lithium every day. This is one time I’m not really f-----d up and driving around and you harass me. Now Montauk is going to be tough for you guys."

Eckhardt recently sold the Trail’s End property for $2.2 million, The Montauk Restaurant for $3 million and is developing a 12-room bay-front hotel, according to the New York Post and other publications.
