Owls, deer and turtles are among those who make Suffolk County Parks their home
Suffolk County Parks are filled with wildlife. Please take care not to disturb them in their natural habitat.
For example, the Makamah Nature Preserve in Fort Salonga, is home to as many as 94 species of birds, and is a prime habitat for owls and woodpeckers.
The Cranberry Bog Nature Preserve in Riverhead is home to various plants, birds, reptiles, and other wildlife creatures.
