Shots Fired, Window Broken in Riverhead: Police

BREAKING: Police are investigating to see if the two incidents are related, authorities said.

RIVERHEAD, NY — Gunshots were fired and a bedroom window was broken in Riverhead Saturday night, police said.

According to Riverhead Town Police, authorities responded at 9:15 a.m. to a home located on W. Oakland drive regarding a report of criminal mischief.

A resident reported that a bedroom window was broken sometime during the overnight hours, police said.

The detective squad is investigating the incident to determine if the broken window is related to a report of shots fired in that area at 12:05 a.m., police said.

Officers had responded to a residence on South Oakland Drive twice overnight, once for a report of a fight at a large party and once for a report of shots fired at that same location, police said. Those incidents occurred in front of a home on South Oakland Drive in Riverhead, where the party was being held, police said.
