Six Dogs Left Outside In Freezing Temperatures: Cops

It was 25 degrees and the water in the dogs' bowls was frozen, police say.

MANORVILLE, NY — Six dogs were left outside in freezing temperatures in Manorville Tuesday, police said.

Suffolk County Police Seventh Precinct officers responded to a 911 report of dogs left outside unattended at 10:40 p.m., police said. When the officers arrived to the non-residential area on Toppings Path near County Road 111, they found six dogs, two on chains and four in cages, without adequate access to shelter, police said.

The temperature registered 25 degrees Fahrenheit, and the water in the dog’s bowls was frozen, police said.

Police rescued the dogs, three beagles and three bloodhounds, ranging in age from one to five years old, and transported them to Animal Emergency Service on Middle Country Road in Selden, police said.
