Small Plane Crashes On Long Island
The pilot flipped over during landing, police say.
RIVERHEAD, NY — A small plane crashed in Riverhead Saturday, police said.
According to Riverhead Town Police, the crash took place at 10:47 a.m. on Sound Avenue when the pilot of a small, private aircraft flipped over during a planned landing at a private airstrip.
The pilot sustained minor injuries and was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center by Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps for treatment, police said.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board were notified, police said.
