Snowdrifts Making Roads Impassable, Motorists Abandoning Cars
Riverhead Police are asking motorists to refrain from travel until later in the day, to give crews time to plow.

RIVERHEAD, NY — Riverhead Police are asking motorists to stay off the roads, with snowdrifts Saturday making some roads impassable and forcing people to abandon their cars.
According to Riverhead Town Police, the National Weather Service has issued a wind chill advisory for the area through 10 a.m. Saturday due to windy conditions.
Due to the wind and drifting snow, Riverhead Police told all motorists traveling throughout the north end of the township including Sound Ave., and all north/south roadways from Sound Ave., that those areas are subject to snowdrifts and are impassible.
