Splish Splash Named New York's 'Wackiest Water Park'

RIVERHEAD, NY — As the summer season starts to heat up, the rest of New York State is catching on to what locals have known all along — Splish Splash is one of the most exciting water parks around.

According to a post on Only In Your State, Splish Splash, located at 2549 Splish Splash Drive in Calverton, is "New York's wackiest water park" and "will make your summer complete."

Splish Splash, the post adds, "is one of New York's most thrilling water parks," a popular destinations for generations of families for almost 30 years.

This year, the park features two new rides, Bombs Away and Riptide Racer.

"Voted one of the Best Water Parks in America by the Travel Channel, Splish Splash has 96 exciting acres of total fun for the whole family. Splish Splash is filled with fun attractions for kids along with the thrill seekers in the family. Year after year, families come here for a summer like no other!" the Splish Splash website says.

Fun can be had in all corners, on 30 rides including the 1,300 ft. long Lazy River, the ever thrilling Cliff Diver, which sends fun seekers dropping eight stories in three seconds, and new attractions including Bootlegger's Run, New York's only water coaster, the Only In Your State post says.

Another popular favorite is Dr. Von's Tunnel of Terror, a water slide in the dark with 360-degee spins and a 40-foot drop, the post adds.

For years, crowds have known that a surefire way to beat the summer heat and have fun at the same time, Splish Splash is an East End treasure.
