Teen Charged In Riverhead Stabbing: Police
He was held in lieu of $10,000 bail, police say.

RIVERHEAD, NY — Update: A teen has been arrested and charged with the stabbing of a man in Riverhead Wednesday night, police said.
Following an investigation by the Riverhead Police Department's detective division, Troyshawn Burgess, 16, of Riverhead was arrested and charged with second degree assault, a felony, police said.
He was also charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation, police said.

Burgess was transported to the Riverhead Police Department for processing and held for arraignment; he was then transported to the Suffolk County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 bail, police said.
According to Riverhead Town Police, officers responded at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday to an apartment complex on East Main Street after a report of a stabbing victim.

A victim was located to the rear of the complex with numerous stab wounds, police said.
The victim was transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, police said.
