Students Salute Women In History
Students highlighted influential women in history, their achievements, and obstacles they had to overcome.

RIVERHEAD, NY — It was a salute to women in history at Riverhead Middle School students recently.
Students in Stephanie Kaimis’ class celebrated Women’s History Month on March 29 by presenting projects related to influential women, the district said.
The students each selected an influential woman to research using a Chromebook, creating lists of facts about their backgrounds and achievements — as well as obstacles they had to overcome.

Students then created colorful scrapbook pages, filled with the stories of the women who'd become pioneers in their respective fields, which they discussed in presentations.
