Subway in Wading River Robbed at Knifepoint, Again, 2nd Time This Week: Police

The last hold-up took place last Wednesday and the description of the thief is the same, police said.

WADING RIVER, NY - Subway employees were robbed at knifepoint, again, Monday night, police said.

The hold-up marks the second such knifepoint robbery at the business in a week; the first took place Wednesday, police said.

According to Riverhead Town Police, police received a call Monday at 8:50 p.m. about a robbery at the Subway located at 6302 Route 25A in Wading River.

When police arrived at the store, employees said an unknown white male had come into the store, displayed a knife and demanded money, police said. The suspect was given cash and fled the area, police said. A Riverhead K9 unit responded to the area and was unsuccessful in locating the thief, police said.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 6' tall, wearing a dark-colored hooded jacket, sunglasses, dark pants, and gloves.

On Wednesday last week, the search began for a man who held up a Wading River Subway at knifepoint, police said.

According to Riverhead Town Police, the robbery took place on Wednesday at 9 p.m. at the Subway located at 6302 Route 25A.

Employees reported that an unknown white male came into the store, displayed a knife and demanded money; he was given an unspecified amount of cash and fled the area, police said

A K9 unit responded to the area and was unsuccessful in locating the suspect, police said.
The man was also described as a white male, approximately 6’0, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, sunglasses, dark pants and gloves, police said.
