Supervisor Declares Winter Storm Event in Riverhead
Up to eight inches of snow is expected in Riverhead Friday.

With snow falling in Riverhead, roads slippery and snow covered, and between five to eight inches expected Friday, RIverhead Town Superviser Sean Walter has declared a winter storm event.
The winter storm will remain in effect until 6 p.m.
Town Hall, however, is open Friday.

Motorists are asked to give themselves plenty of time to get to their destinations, use extreme caution and reduce speed.
Riverhead highway crews will be out working; residents are asked to be sure cars are off the road so as not to hamper plowing efforts. Parked or abandoned vehicles left on Riverhead streets can be impounded.

Residents are asked not to shovel snow directly onto the roadway, to check on elderly neighbors, bring pets safely inside, and remove snow and ice from the sidewalks in front of their property.
