Supporters Attend Maureen's Haven 5K Run/Walk On Sunday

The event, which raised money to benefit the homeless, took place at Stotzky Park on Sunday.

Runners, walkers and supporters turned out to Maureen’s Haven Second Annual 5K Run/Walk which took place Sunday at Stotzky Park.

The results of the race were announced, with Riverhead local Tyler Reilly, 13, coming in second place overall with a time of 23:43.1.

K.C. Brett, 54, of Port Jefferson won first place with a time of 21:52.7 and Matthew Forrest, 32, of New York City came in third with a time of 23:56.7.

The event was to raise money for Maureen’s Haven, which partners with Houses of Worship throughout the East End to ensure that the homeless are sheltered during the coldest months of the year.

Maureen’s Haven Volunteer Mike Anile, Board Chair Jackie Stein and Program Director Tara Murphy were at the event to show off what the race is all about.
