Target Thief Nabbed: Cops

RIVERHEAD, NY — A woman who stole from Target has been caught, police said.

According Riverhead Town Police, Melanie King, 37, of Mastic Beach, was arrested on Sunday at 3:30 p.m.; the arrest stems from an incident that occurred at the Target store on April 4, police added.

After an investigation by the Riverhead Police Department's detective division it was determined that King removed items from the store totaling $1,224.61 without paying, police said.

King was arrested at Riverhead Police headquarters, charged with fourth degree grand larceny, a felony, and released on an appearance ticket for future court action, police said.
