Taxicab Compliance Crackdown In Riverhead: Cops

RIVERHEAD, NY — A crackdown on taxicab compliance led to summonses in Riverhead, police said.

The Riverhead Police Department's C.O.P.E unit conducted an investigation focused on taxicab compliance in Riverhead Sunday, which led to 10 town code summonses and numerous New York State vehicle and traffic summonses issued, police said.

Compliance checks will be conducted on an ongoing basis throughout the year, police said.
