
RIVERHEAD, NY — A pickup truck was stolen from the Riverhead Central School District's property, police said.
According to Riverhead Police, who are conducting a grand larceny investigation, the theft took place sometime between Dec. 28 and Jan. 8, when someone entered a locked, gated area at the school district's property on Osborne Avenue in Riverhead and removed the 1996 Ford Ranger pickup truck.
On Jan. 7, at 7:56 p.m., an unknown black man, believed to be in his early to middle 60s, was seen in possession of the truck at the Speedway Gas Station on Old Country Road in Riverhead, police said.
