Town Seeks Applicants For IDA Board Of Directors

RIVERHEAD, NY — For those interested in giving back to the community and spurring economic growth, the Town of Riverhead is seeking volunteers to serve on the board of directors for the Riverhead Industrial Development Agency.

The director will serve a term of three years concurrent with a term as director for the Riverhead IDA Economic Job Development Corporation. Ideal candidates should possess knowledge of business finance, economic development, planning, government operations and business development. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and reside in the Town of Riverhead.

The board meets once per month, typically the first Monday of every month. The candidate will serve on assigned committees for both the IDA and the LDC and shall participate in training approved by the State of New York regarding their ethical, legal, and fiduciary responsibilities. The candidate must be deemed as an “Independent Director” in accordance with Section 2825 of the Public Authorities Law. This is an unpaid position.
