Trio Steals Pocketbook With Cell Phone, Cash At Tanger: Cops

Three people "acted in concert" to steal a woman's pocketbook at Tanger, police say.

RIVERHEAD, NY — The search is on for a trio that stole a purse from a female shopper at Tanger right before Christmas, police said.

According to Riverhead Town Police, the incident took place on Dec. 23 at 6:45 p.m. at the Old Navy outlet store at Tanger, located on West Main St. in Riverhead.

Two women and a man entered Old Navy and "acted in concert" to remove a pocketbook belonging to the woman; they concealed the purse and then fled the store, police said.

The pocketbook contained cash, credit cards, identification, a cell phone and assorted items valuing more than $1,000, police said.
