Two Men Arrested After Investigation Into Alleged Assault, Menacing Incident: Police

One man was also found with heroin, crack and marijuana, police said.

RIVERHEAD, NY — Two men were arrested Wednesday after an investigation into an alleged assault and menacing incident, police said.

According to Riverhead Town Police, the police department's COPE unit arrested Martineil Price, 38, and Justus Davendar, 21, both of Riverhead, on arrest warrants following an investigation of an alleged assault and menacing that occurred on March 10 on Mill Road in Riverhead.

Both men were charged with third degree assault and second degree menacing following the investigation; Price was also charged with third degree criminal possession of a weapon in relation to a prior investigation, police said.

Upon arrest, in addition to the above charges, Price was found to be in possession of quantities of narcotics, including heroin, crack cocaine, and marijuana and was subsequently additionally charged with two counts of third degree criminal possession of controlled substance, intent to sell, one count of third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, one count of fifth degree criminal possession a controlled substance, one count of seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, one count of fifth degree criminal possession of marijuana, and one count of unlawful possession of marijuana, police said.

Davender was also found to be in possession a quantity of marijuana and was charged with one count of unlawful possession of marijuana, police said.

Both men were transported to Riverhead Police headquarters where they were processed and held for arraignment, police said.
