Two North Fork Farmstands Hit by Criminals Wednesday: Police

Authorities believe the incidents may be connected, police said.

RIVERHEAD, NY - Two incidents, including a burglary, at local farmstands may be connected, police said.

According to Riverhead Town Police, officers responded at 9:35 a.m. Wednesday to the Bayview Farm Market, located at 891 Main Road in Aquebogue, to investigate a commercial burglary.

Upon opening for the day, it was discovered that someone had entered the establishment and removed items, police said.

The surveillance video shows that two subjects had entered the establishment in the early morning hours and removed money and assorted merchandise, police said.

In addition, Riverhead police also responded to Season Farms, located at 1017 Main Road in Jamesport, to investigate a report of a criminal mischief, authorities said.

Unknown individuals attempted to enter the establishment via a window air conditioning unit and damaged numerous plants, police said.

The incidents are similar in nature and possibly perpetrated by the same defendants, police said.
