Van Crashes Into House In Westhampton Sunday: Police
A van went careening into a home in Westhampton — and soon after, a car plowed into P.C. Richards in Southampton, police say.
WESTHAMPTON, NY — In the space of one afternoon in the Hamptons, a van careened into a house in Westhampton and another vehicle slammed into P.C. Richard & Son in Southampton, police said.
Southampton Town Police confirmed the Westhampton incident and said the P.C. Richard & Son crash followed soon after.
According to Fred Bauer of the Westhampton Beach Fire Department in a Facebook post: "Today we were personally reminded of how great it is to live in a place where friends and neighbors are always ready to respond when the s--- hits the fan. An accident in front of our house ended with a van hitting the house," he said.

Terrie Bauer, Fred's wife, said the driver of the van was making a left on Tanners Neck Ln. in Westhampton when the brakes failed on a red truck behind him, "sending him through my fence across the lawn and into my house."

Fred Bauer said there were no serious injuries to anyone and relatively little damage to the house. "Kudos to our team of first responders: the Southampton Town Police Department, Westhampton Beach Fire Department, the Westhampton War Memorial Ambulance Association — and others that stopped to help," he said.
According to Southampton Town Police, a car driven by a 42-year old female then crashed into P.C. Richards & Son on County Rd. 39 at 2:26 p.m. Staff at P.C. Richard & Son said it was believed that there were no serious injuries were reported but could not speak to the extent of damage to the building.
