RIVERHEAD, NY — Break out the old vinyl collections and dig out the stereos — a new business, Sunday Records, has opened its doors in downtown Riverhead.
And it's only open on Sundays.
"Deborah and Brian Volkman have opened a record store to help relive and experience those memories that music creates," the Riverhead Chamber of Commerce said.

"Sunday is the best day to go to a record store. Why have we opened this record store? For you. To see your smile when you look at the records. And, hear your story about how a song or album changed your life. The people who come into the store are happy to be here," said Deborah Volkman. "We see glowing faces. We see people who are taking a moment out of their busy day to relive a memory that was special to them or discover a new song they never heard before. A very cool thing to witness and be a part of. See you on Sunday. Come in and flip through."
Sunday Records, located at 125 Roanoke Avenue, is open on Sundays from noon to 6 p.m.

The records are organized according to local radio stations, including 102.3, WBAB, WEHM, and WLIR, the Chamber said. "If you hear a song you like on a radio station, Sunday Records has it on vinyl. There's also a nice comfy chair you can sit and spin your favorite old vinyls while wearing headphones."
