Walmart, Target Thief Caught: Cops

The Shirley man was taken into custody at his residence in connection with reported Riverhead larcenies, police say.

RIVERHEAD, NY — A Shirley man has been arrested in connection with larcenies reported at Walmart and Shirley, police said.

According to Riverhead Police, Andrew A. Walsh, 30, was taken into custody at his residence on two outstanding warrants by personnel from the Suffolk County Police Department's seventh precinct and transported to their facility.

He was later turned over to personnel from Riverhead Police and transported to Riverhead Police headquarters, police said.

Walsh was charged with one count of fourth degree grand larceny and one count of petty larceny, police said.

The charges stem from prior incidents occurring on Dec. 23, 2017 at Walmart and Target on Old Country Road in Riverhead, police said.

Walsh was processed and held for morning arraignment, police said.
