Woman Charged With Stabbing Girlfriend To Death In Riverhead: PD
The stabbing took place Thursday night, police say.
RIVERHEAD, NY — A Riverhead woman was arrested and charged with stabbing her girlfriend to death at their home Thursday night, police said.
Marta Esmerelda Ramirez-Carbajal, 20, was pronounced dead, police said. Her girlfriend, Karen Abigail Delacruz-Reyes, 21, was charged with first-degree manslaughter, police said.
According to Suffolk County Police, the incident took place on East Main Street at 11:58 p.m.

Riverhead Town Police responded to the home after a call reporting a disturbance, authorities said. When officers arrived, there was no one at the home, but there was evidence of a struggle, police said.
Responding officers located Ramirez-Carbajal at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead a short time later, police said. Delacruz-Reyes was also at the hospital, police said.

Delacruz-Reyes will be arraigned Friday at Riverhead Justice Court, police said.
