Woman Escapes While in Police Custody: Authorities

RIVERHEAD, NY — A woman escaped while in police custody, authorities said.
According to Riverhead Town Police, a recently arraigned woman, Michelle Bremner, escaped from custody on Tuesday at about 12:30 while being held in police headquarters.
She had been arraigned on a drug-related charge, police said.

Currently, she is being sought by the Suffolk County Police Department on an outstanding warrant for seventh degree possession of a controlled substance, police said. Due to her escape, she's also being sought by Riverhead Town Police on a charge of third degree escape, police said.
Bremner is described as a white female, about 28 years old, 5-foot-6, 130 pounds, dyed red hair, with a thin build; she was wearing a black long sleeved shirt, light colored pants and light colored canvas boat shoes, police said.
