Woman Leaves Scene Of 3 Crashes, Including 1 With Mail Truck: PD

She left the scene of 3 crashes and then tried to run away on foot before she was arrested, police say.

RIVERSIDE, NY —A Chicago woman was arrested after she left the scene of three crashes in both Riverside and Riverhead Tuesday, police said.

According to Southampton Town Police, the incident took place at 2:51 p.m. when Adareo Lowry, 32, was first involved in a minor crash at the intersection of Enterprise Zone Drive and Flanders Road. Lowry sped away from the scene in her vehicle then headed northwest on Flanders Road and was involved in a second crash involving a U.S. mail truck, police said.

She continued on Peconic Avenue and then Main Street in Riverhead where she was involved in a third motor vehicle crash and attempted to run away on foot, police said.

None of the crashes resulted in injury, police said.

Lowry was arrested and charged with second-degree criminal impersonation, a misdemeanor; third-degree unlawful fleeing police, a misdemeanor; and leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident with property damage, a traffic infraction, as well as several other traffic violations, police said.
