Woman Found Dead In Wading River Woods: Police
The woman was found by a man walking his dog and now police are asking for help to identify her.
WADING RIVER, NY — A woman was found dead in a wooded area of Wading River Sunday, police said.
According to Riverhead Town Police, at 2:28 p.m., a call came in about the woman, who was found in the area behind 20th Street. Her body was discovered by a resident walking his dog in the area, police said.
An investigation followed, involving the Riverhead Town Department's detective squad and the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office.

At the present time, police said they do not believe the woman was a crime victim. She was described as white, about 35 to 40 years old, with dyed red hair, a black jacket, and camouflage pants, police said.
