Woman Nabbed After Stealing Pocketbook: Police

RIVERHEAD, NY — A Ridge woman was arrested Wednesday after she stole a purse from a Wading River business, police said.

According to Riverhead Town Police, Christina Ospina, 33, was arrested at 10 p.m. after officers responded to Phil’s Sports Lounge following a report that a pocketbook had been stolen from the bar area.

A subsequent investigation led to Ospina's arrest and the recovery of the pocketbook, police said.

Ospina was charged with one count of fourth degree grand larceny and processed at the Riverhead Police Department, where she was held pending arraignment, police said.
