Woman Wakes to Find Stranger In Home, Man Flees Through Window: Police
BREAKING: The search is on for the man, who fled on Sound Avenue in Calverton, police said.

RIVERHEAD, NY — A Calverton woman woke up early Saturday and found a man in her home, police said.
According to Riverhead Town Police, the incident took place on Saturday 1:35 a.m., when authorities responded to a Sound Avenue home after a call about a residential burglary.
A female resident contacted police to report that she was awoken to find a man standing inside her home, watching her, police said.

The woman immediately began screaming; the man became startled and exited the residence through a window that he had apparently used to enter, police said.
The man fled the area in an unknown direction, police said.

Several units, including a K-9 unit, were dispatched to the area, and a search for the suspect was conducted, with negative results, police said.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspect is asked to contact Riverhead Police at 631-727-4500 ext 633.
