Woman's Body Found In Wooded Area In Manorville: Police

MANORVILLE, NY — A woman was found dead in a wooded area in Manorville Wednesday afternoon, police said.

According to Suffolk County police, an investigation is ongoing regarding the circumstances leading to the death of the woman, whose body was found on Connecticut Avenue, south of River Road, at 3:21 p.m.

Seventh Precinct Patrol units were searching the area, when they discovered the body of the adult female, police said.

The woman’s identity and cause of death will be determined during an autopsy by personnel from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner, police said.

Following a preliminary investigation, detectives believe the cause of death to be criminal in nature, police said.
