Young Flappers And Dapper Gents Rock Roaring 20s Styles
Middle school kids dressed the part after studying the Roaring 20s.

RIVERHEAD, NY — It was flapper dresses and pinstriped suits at Riverhead Middle School recently as eighth graders rocked the styles of the Roaring 20s.
The kids came dressed in cloche hats and bright scarves as they celebrated at a 1920s themed party after studying the development of mass culture during the time period. Students researched famous trendsetters and innovators of the period and impersonated those figures at the event, the district said.
“The party was a lot of fun for the students,” said teacher Kevin Hewkin. “It was a nice way to recap what they learned about 1920s culture and historical figures.”
