13 Irvington High School Seniors Honored As Commended Students

Irvington's seniors are among 34,000 students throughout the nation to be recognized for their exceptional academic achievements.

IRVINGTON, NY — Thirteen Irvington High School seniors were recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation as Commended Students in the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program. Being recognized as a Commended Student is an honor given annually to outstanding students who achieve exceptional scores on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

This year, Arielle Ades, Julia Caldropoli, Jacob Dunefsky, Benjamin Flock, Sohum Gala, Anna Horowitz, Aayushi Jha, Samantha Kimura, Jacob Lewin, Rishikesh Madabhushi, Daniel Marshall, Nicole Radlauer and Hwa-Lyang Sugihara received the National Letter of Commendation award.

Irvington’s seniors are among 34,000 students throughout the nation to be recognized for their exceptional academic achievements, according to a district spokesman. They placed among the top 50,000 scorers of more than 1.6 million students nationwide who took the qualifying test in 2017.
