150 interviews with veterans of WWII and Korean conflict to be aired
Greenburgh residents played an important role in fighting for our freedoms
150 INTERVIEWS WITH VETERANS OF WORLD WAR II and the KOREAN CONFLICT TO BE AIRED NON STOP ON GREENBURGH PUBLIC ACCESS TV
In honor of the Greenburgh local veterans who served during World War II and the Korean conflict the Greenburgh public access TV channel will continue our tradition of playing 150 separate half hour video interviews with Greenburgh veterans of World War II and the Korean conflict nonstop from Friday evening 8 PM to Monday night Memorial day on Channel 76 Optimum and Channel 3. Former resident Alan Hochberg, with the assistance of Steve Wittenberg, started interviewing the veterans in 2009. The interviews took about five years to complete. Sadly, many of the veterans who were interviewed have passed away.
We want to make sure that their service to our nation is never forgotten and that their stories of bravery are appreciated. We want students to also learn how Greenburgh residents fought to save our democracy and our freedoms. We have been airing the interviews nonstop during every Memorial Day weekend and Veterans Day weekend.
